April Fool’s Day

I hope we don’t get into trouble this time.
It is April Fool’s Day. Sam and I were in the tree house. I said,
“How about we play a prank on Alex.”

At the pond there was Alex fishing.
“Sam you go behind Alex and push him into the water.”
“OK,” whispered Sam. So three, two, one and with a big splash Alex was in the water, soaking wet. We   ran and ran.

Back where Alex was in the water he was thinking they will pay for that. We were going to apologise but Alex was gone. Suddenly we saw fake heads. Our mouths flew open and we raced all the way home.

That was fun. I can’t wait until next April Fool’s Day. Maybe we will plan another prank.

At The Park

Oh I hope it’s not bad I said to myself as the ambulance took Francis to the hospital.
My brother and I are going to the park to meet Francis.

“Come on Francis, Let’s go on the swings.” I said.
Higher, higher, higher,” said Francis. Francis fell off the swing. I rushed over. Francis was on the ground screaming. There were floods of tears streaming down her face. Her face was as red as a tomato. She looked like she was in a lot of pain.

I ran next door to get Francis’s mother. We both ran over to Francis. In my head I was thinking was it my fault? I did push her too high. Francis couldn’t move her arm. Then I heard a loud siren. At last the ambulance was here. Two people carried her into the ambulance on a stretcher. Francis’s mother went with her.

My brother and I went home feeling a little guilty. Next time I will be more careful. I hope Francis is better soon. I wonder what my Mum will say.

Cricket

I hope I hit the wicket.
It was after school on Monday. Dad shouted to me,
“Do you want to play cricket?”
“Yes,” I said. “I’ll see if Charlotte wants to play.” She didn’t.

I started at batter. Dad was the bowler. Dad threw the ball, I hit it. I ran, Dad caught the ball.
“Good catch,” I said. Dad got ten points. We played until it was dark. Dad won.

It was a fun day. Next time I’ll win.

Dinner

What’s for dinner?

My Mum is cooking dinner for us in my Grandma’s house in Afghanistan.

In the kitchen is a tap with water coming out into a basin. There was a stove. The plates and knives and spoons are on the mat. The Pizza is ready. Mum put some on my plate. There are tomatoes and mushrooms and cheese, my favourite. Everyone ate theirs.

That pizza was yummiest I ever had. I wish Mum would cook another one.

Golf

I’ve got to hit the ball.
My family are on holiday in Taupo. We are on the golf course.

“I’ve found the clubs,” said Dad. My brothers raced over.
“I’ll pass one to Abby,” said Josh.
“Now we’re ready to play,” said my brother Zeke. We were all holding clubs.
“Dad look over there. There is an empty space.”
“That’s perfect Josh,” said Dad. I’m so excited .I‘ve never played golf before. We found the balls. Josh went first. He hit the ball. It went into the hole. The rest of us had our turns. It was really fun.

I got the ball in the hole twice. I had so much fun. I hope we can come back soon. Next time I am going to get a better score.

Last Day Of Camping

Oh no I’ve got to run faster.
It was summer. I was running to Kai’s house. My family was in New Plymouth camping.

It was the last day of our holiday. Kai and I read books, I think Zac Power is cool. We played the Lego movie video game. It was awesome. We ate popcorn. I said to Kai,
“ I’ll  miss you when I go home.” Kai said,
“ I’ll miss you bro.”

The next day in the car I thought to myself I miss Kai but I’ll see him next year.

Soccer

Yey it’s sunny. I can wear my new soccer boots.
“Hey Dad can you pump up my soccer ball?” I went to Zach’s house, then Ameils and Maneils.
“Do you want to play soccer? I just got a new ball.” I asked. “Me and Ameil verses Zach and Maneil.”

I passed to Ameil, he scored one nil. Five more minutes. Zach passed to Maneil, they scored. One all. Five seconds to go 5, 4, 3, 2, Goal. Half time winners are Oscar and Ameil. I talk to Ameil the plan I said steal the ball. Zach passed to Maneil I stole the ball. I scored three one. Four minutes. I dummy, then I pass. Zach stole the ball. They scored. Five seconds, I pass.
“Oh no they’ve got the ball.” They scored, three, three. We shook hands.

Ok they were good. But next time it’s no draw. It’s me and Ameil who are going to win. What a fantastic game.

The Big Night
I can’t wait until my friends come.
It’s a beautiful Saturday night. I was on holiday at my auntie’s house waiting for my friends. It was my goodbye party. Hanna and India arrived and then everyone else.

Me, India and my cousin Declan did makeup together. I did Declan’s makeup. It was funny. He looked pretty. We played hide and seek. I went on the slide and got my bottom wet.

We ate food. I had chips’ lettuce, and sausage. I had grapes then we ate popsicles sitting on the doorstep. Then Auntie Ann made me Irish Dance around the house and everyone joined in. It was fun India’s Mum and Dad danced too.

That was the end of my holiday. I hope I can go back. It was exciting we had so much fun.

The Fire

The smell of fire is getting stronger and stronger. The fire is getting warmer and hotter.
There was a big fire in our street. It was night time.

“I can see a red helicopter and lots of smoke.” I said.
“It might be a fire.” said Mum. So we went to have a look. It was at the old school. It was a big fire. The flames grew higher and higher. One fireman put out a long emergency tape so no one would get hurt. Lots of fire trucks came to put the fire out. A big hose came out on a crane from the fire truck. The firemen put a big hose on the fire hydrant. Water swished from the hose on to the fire. Lots of smoke came off the building.
“I wonder who lit the fire?” I said to Mum.

It took two hours to put the fire out. I think fires are cool but I hope it doesn’t happen to my house.

The Riverbank

Look how far it’s going. I hope it reaches the river.

It’s a wonderful day. I’m going have fun at the riverbank with my friends Hayley, Maisie, Eva and my Dad.

I threw the ball, it went so far I was amazed.
“Did it hit anyone?” I said.
“No thank God.” said Dad.
“Hey Hanna’s Dad can you throw that far?” asked Maisie.
“I’m not sure,” answered Dad. We all raced to the ball.
“Come on Dad.” Eva won. She threw as far as she could. It went into the river.

In the end we didn’t find the ball. But we got wet. It was lots of fun. Next week I’ll ask if we can go again.

The Secret Tree

I wonder if she’s got any secrets to tell me.
Hi my name is Hayley, soon I am meeting my BFF in the H and H tree.

Are you wondering why? I am going there because she has got a very important secret to tell me. It was after lunch and Hanna was dying to tell me the secret. It was raining and the H and H tree was wet. I had made a deal with Hanna to only tell secrets in the tree. I have known Hanna since she was a baby so that is why we are such good friends.

It was after lunch and it had stopped raining but the H and H tree was still wet so I decided we should bring cushions to sit on. We went to the tree. I sat in my spot and Hanna sat in hers. Then she told me her secret. It was funny, she told me my friend Charlie went camping she had to go to the toilet and it took too long to get there so she went in the tent on the floor. I laughed and laughed.

That was a funny secret. I hope I will have a funny secret to share next time we go to the tree.
